How it works

The snippet is a small <iframe> served by glostats.com. It loads the same UN-based dataset as this site and advances the country's population every second from the latest official baseline and growth rate — the figure is a statistical estimate, exactly as on the country pages. The frame is about 6 KB, carries no ads and no third-party scripts beyond our own analytics, and works on any CMS that accepts HTML (WordPress, Ghost, Squarespace, Notion embeds, Google Sites…).

The credit line under the frame links to the country's page on Glostats; please keep it — it is the only thing we ask in return (terms). The figure updates automatically when our dataset is refreshed, so you never need to touch the code again.

You can also link straight to a counter page, for example /widget/counter.html?c=turkey&theme=dark. Parameters: c (country slug from the page URL, or world), theme (dark | light), vitals (1 | 0).
